Family Fun

Planning a family vacation that offers a vibrant mix of relaxation, adventure, & cultural immersion, ensuring unforgettable memories for everyone.

Family-Friendly Itinerary

Traveling with the whole family can be a fun experience, especially when everything is all planned out for you. Keep everyone in your group entertained with a mixture of sightseeing, adventure, relaxation, and cultural things to see and do when visiting everyone’s dream destination. Take a look at our rundown of an exciting Jamaican family vacation for a five-day trip no one will soon forget.

DAY 1

An all-inclusive family resort is a perfect base for Jamaican family vacations. These resorts allow everyone to satisfy their desires, be it entertainment, food options, or things to do all within the comfort of your resort. Montego Bay and Ocho Rios have plenty of these resorts and both are great central locations to kick off your week. Whichever you choose, there will be a handful of pools and a breathtaking beach steps away from your room. After a long day of travel, relax and take in the beauty of the landscape and fresh air you’ll call home for the next five days.

If you’re not at an all-inclusive resort, then take a leisurely walk through the town. In Montego Bay, a walk along the Hip Strip against the backdrop of the setting sun will engage your senses as wafts of jerk chicken and the sounds of island life float through the air. Follow the tantalizing scents and try your first bite of street food or pop into the famous Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records for some local eats.

In Ocho Rios, the newly opened boardwalk is your place for amazing views and lots of delicious food. Then head back to your hotel to rest up for a day of adventure starting early the next day.

DAY 2

Today is a day of adventure. Jamaican first-timers will want to see some of our world-famous sites. The early bird will catch the spectacular views and avoid any crowds. Head to the gorgeous Dunn’s River Falls, right there in Ocho Rios or about an hour away from Montego Bay, to climb the iconic waterfall that tumbles gloriously into the sea. It’s an easy and refreshing climb that the whole family will love.

Stop at Miss T’s Kitchen in the heart of Ocho Rios for Jamaican food that everyone loves. Or head into Scotchies or the Ocho Rios Jerk Centre for a quick local lunch as you make your way back to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon.

DAY 3

It’s time to see the sights. This time a little more leisurely as yesterday was full of adrenaline. Take a long road trip down to the South Coast, a couple of hours away from both Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. This will give you the opportunity to see the hilly interior of the island or the breathtaking views along the coastline, depending on the route you take. Stop along the way to sample fresh fruit at roadside vendors and snap photos at the incredible scenic spots you’ll find.

Once you’re on the South Coast, have lunch at Lovers Leap, a historic location high above the rugged coastline, home to Jamaica’s own Romeo and Juliet love story. The food here is as incredible as the view.

If you prefer to be right on the beach, the charming fishing village in Little Ochi will serve you up a feast from the catch of the day. Enjoy the freshest seafood against a backdrop of the crashing waves with reggae music and seagulls floating in the air. Stop on your way back to try the pepper shrimp, a local delicacy that’s sold right on the roadside.

DAY 4

It’s time to explore the community. Enjoy the serenity of nature as you take a river raft down the Martha Brae, conveniently located right between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Your guides will regale you with tales of the land and more, and encourage you to stop at the riverside restaurant for some tasty treats.

Another option is to head to the hills to visit the Bunkers Hill Xperience & River Tour, just outside Montego Bay, to learn more about the island's culture and the culinary experiences that make us unique. You’ll be entertained while you take the opportunity to touch and taste the goodness of Jamaica.

DAY 5

After a full and packed trip, enjoy your in-house breakfast today. Perhaps there’s time for one last dip in the Caribbean Sea before you head off on your journey home. If so, then Harmony Beach is minutes away from the Montego Bay airport. So too is Doctor’s Cave Beach. Reflect on the wonderful family memories made in Jamaica as you tasted, toured, and sampled the best of our island.

Adventure

There are endless adventures to have in Jamaica and it can be hard to know what to tackle first. Check out this exhilarating five-day ride to experience the best of this wicked little island.

Adventure Itinerary

Embark on a thrilling adventure featuring non-stop excitement in the spectacular tropical island Jamaica. Leave the world behind and explore your wildest fantasies on a zipline over the jungle. Ride ATVs along roaring rivers and dance the night away to sweet reggae music under brightly lit stars.

There are endless adventures to have in Jamaica and it can be hard to know what to tackle first. We’ve lined up an exhilarating five-day ride so you can see, do, and experience the best of our wicked little island.

DAY 1

Are you the type to hit the ground running even after a day of travel? Then grab a quick lunch at your resort or hit the streets in whichever town you’ve landed to hunt for some of the best street food around. No matter what time of day it is, some jerk chicken and a bubbling pot of soup is somewhere to be found in the busy thoroughfares of our cities. Just ask a taximan!

When you’re fueled up, it’s time to hit a beach bar to kick off your wild ride. Margaritaville has good food, flowing tropical cocktails, and the latest hits pumping through the air in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, and Negril. These are open-air bars, perfect for enjoying your first crimson sunset in your new and alluring surroundings.

DAY 2

Get up early, it’s time to get going! Book a tour with Chukka Adventures. They’re located all along the north and south coasts and will take you ziplining, river tubing, horseback riding, and ATV trailing. If you can, make a whole day of it and head to the Chukka located at YS Falls in St. Elizabeth. It’s about a two-hour drive away from Montego Bay or Negril and totally worth the trip. These falls aren’t as famous as Dunn’s River but are just as majestic. Climbing them and ziplining down is the experience of a lifetime.

While you’re in St. Elizabeth, hop on a fishing boat over to Floyd’s Pelican Bar, dubbed the coolest bar in the world. It’s a floating bar out in the Caribbean Sea serving up cold Red Stripe beers and freshly prepared seafood.

DAY 3

Today takes you back out in nature, but to explore a little off the beaten path. Head into the hills of St. Mary, about 45 minutes from Ocho Rios, and seek out Old Spanish Bridge or Blue Hole. These are river attractions where you’ll find locals freediving into the unbelievably pure and refreshing turquoise waters below.

While you’re there, head to the childhood home of Bob Marley that’s now a museum, offering a look into the life of our musical legend.

DAY 4

What’s a trip to Jamaica without sipping a Red Stripe and watching cliff jumping at Rick’s Cafe in Negril? The capital of casual, Negril is a must-see while in Jamaica for its amazing sunsets and laid back vibe. It’s an hour-and-a-half away from Montego Bay, so make a day of it in Negril and head to JamWest Motorsports & Adventure Park for ATVing and ziplining. At JamWest, you can also reach top speeds in a race car to really get your heart pounding.

If you were hoping for more waterfall chasing, Portland is your spot. This is perfect if you’re based in Ocho Rios or Kingston since it’s about two-and-a-half hours from both locations on the eastern side of the island. Here you’ll find a handful of waterfalls such as Reach Falls and Somerset Falls, black sand beaches to explore, the “bottomless” Blue Lagoon, and surfing over in Boston Bay.

Boston Bay is the home of the famous jerk method of cooking, so be sure to stop for some authentic jerk chicken and grab a bottle or two of the marinade to take home.

DAY 5

After several splendid days filled with trips around Jamaica, it’s time to relax a little closer to your resort.

Spend your morning leisurely walking along the beach at Doctor’s Cave in Montego Bay, Long Bay Beach in Negril, or Ocho Rios Bay Beach. These are local favorites and will be crawling with music, good food, and good vibes.

If you’re still craving a bit of adventure before you head out, try the floating water park at Puerto Seco Beach in Discovery Bay. This is about halfway between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay and will test your agility as you try to keep from falling in the sea splashing below.

After a rip-roaring time on the island of adventure, we bid you farewell until we meet again. Take a handcrafted souvenir and a bottle of rum or two to remember us by.

Romance

What might the perfect romantic vacation in Jamaica look like? Take a look at this five-day itinerary where you can help with the spark of romance for those travelling to Jamaica.

Romantic Getaways

Jamaica is the perfect place to spark romance and with so many options, the possibilities for creating spectacular memories are endless. So what might the perfect romantic five-day vacation in Jamaica look like? Let us help you plan the most memorable experience for you and your sweetheart with our list of the best romantic things to do in Jamaica.

Day 1

Start off in Montego Bay. After a day of travel and hotel check-in, enjoy a relaxing evening on a houseboat serving up gourmet meals. Houseboat Grill is moored in the Montego Bay Fish Sanctuary and offers a unique and eclectic ambiance for an enchanting dining experience.

Then make your way to your hotel bar or out to Pier 1 or Margaritaville for a strong Jamaican cocktail and some groovy reggae tunes. Dance the night away under the stars with your loved one nestled in your arms.

Day 2

Awake to the aroma of our bold Blue Mountain coffee and a full Jamaican breakfast spread whether at your hotel or at a Jamaican cafe such as Pelican Grill. On day two, you might want to head out and experience bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae River, where you’ll slowly meander through the breathtaking rainforest on rustic rafts with a storied and experienced guide.

Then, make a courtesy call to Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall with a tour of the Rose Hall Great House. Do the night tour if you’re bravely keen to catch Annie gliding through the halls.

Laying out on the beach is always an option too. For a local vibe, visit Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay or make a trip to Long Bay Beach Park in Negril, about an hour-and-a-half drive away.

Day 3

Go off for an adventure today to climb the famous Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios, less than two hours away. Or perhaps visit Konoko Falls, also in Ocho Rios, or go a little further out to YS Falls in St. Elizabeth, both a little more secluded and off the beaten path. If you make it all the way out to YS Falls on the South Coast of Jamaica, about two hours away, then book a boat ride out to Pelican Bar for a cool icy Red Stripe Beer. It’s the coolest bar in the world.

Complete your South Coast trip with a stop at Lover’s Leap to hear the enduring story of the Jamaican Romeo and Juliet and take a few photos atop the jarring, but spectacular seaside cliff. Make sure to stop in Middle Quarters to grab a bite of pepper shrimp, famous street food from that side of town.

Book a spa date at your hotel for your return after a day of adventure. A couple’s massage is the perfect way to prepare for a candlelit dinner on the beach or a sunset sail on a catamaran cruise.

Day 4

For the final leg of your romantic getaway in Jamaica, shift your homebase to Kingston where you can get a taste of the capital city. Immerse yourself in the culture of Jamaica with a visit to the Bob Marley Museum or the Institute of Jamaica in Kingston. Then take a food tour through the city or visit Port Royal for a slice of 17th-century history.

Finish the day with a few moves on the dancefloor at a street dance or a swanky Jamaican nightclub surrounded by the best DJs, dancers, vibe, and cocktails.

Day 5

Indulge in a little shopping to take back a piece of Jamaica with you before heading out to catch your flight. There’s plenty of shopping in Kingston to grab authentic handcrafted clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs. There, you can also pick up things like Jamaican jerk sauce, marinades, pepper sauce, jams, jellies, dominoes, kitchenware, and lots of quirky Jamaican gift items.

Inside the duty-free shops in Kingston and Montego Bay, you will find fine jewelry, perfumes, accessories, and deluxe Jamaican alcohol.

Mix and match your Jamaican itinerary to suit your preferences as a couple. That may include more adventure days, more cultural experiences, or more days of fine dining and relaxation. Jamaica’s the perfect place to take your love to new heights as you fall deeper for each other in paradise.
