Highlights of Your Tashkent Itinerary

Itinerary Details

Day 1 – Tashkent arrival and free day

On the first day of your Tashkent itinerary, you will arrive at Tashkent International Airport and have the day at your leisure after transferring and checking in to your hotel.

Day 2 – Tashkent City Tour

Have breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide at the hotel at 09:00, then start the sightseeing tour at the capital city of Uzbekistan:

  • Hazrati Imam Complex – the spiritual heart of Tashkent (16th – 20th century)
  • Chorsu Bazaar – one of the busiest bazaars in Tashkent
  • Independence Square – a favorite resting place for residents, a place where couples come to take pictures on their wedding day.
  • Uzbekistan State Museum of Applied Arts – an art museum first founded as a temporary exhibition for handicrafts, the museum contains over 4,000 exhibits on decorative art in Uzbekistan, including wood carving, ceramics, embossing, jewelry, gold weaving, embroidery, and samples of mass production in local industry.

Day 3 – Samarkand City Tour

Have breakfast at the hotel, then a drive will transfer you to the train station at 07:00. Take the 08:04 train to Samarkand, arriving at 10:22, and meet your guide. Start the sightseeing tour from the heart of the old city:

  • Guri Amir Mausoleum of the Timurid Dynasty – build by order of Amir Temur in 1403 – 1405, it is one of the most iconic places for the locals of Samarkand.
  • Registan – home to three Madrasahs, institutions of higher education in the Islamic sciences.
  • Bibi-Khanym Mosque – in the 15th century, it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world.
  • Siab Bazaar – the oldest operating bazaar in Samarkand.
  • Shah-i-Zinda Complex – with a name that means “the living king”, this historical landmark in Samarkand is a sight to behold with its magnificent architecture.

Day 4 – Samarkand to Tashkent

Have breakfast at the hotel, then meet your guide at 09:00. Visit the following tourist destinations of Samarkand on the fourth day of your Uzbekistan travel package:

  • Ulugbek Observatory – built in the 15th century, this observatory is 3 stories high and was the center of astronomical study in Central Asia.
  • Mausoleum of Khodja Daniyar – a place where three world religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) meet, it is a unique place located on a high hill. In Christianity and Judaism, it is known as the tomb of the biblical prophet Daniel, or Khodja Daniyar as Muslims name him.
  • Afrasiab Museum – located at one of the largest archaeological sites in the world, Afrasiyab, this museum tells the story of the founding of Samarkand, its history, as well as the settlement of Afrasiyab. Remains of ancient swords, knives, ceramics, ancient manuscripts and more can be found in the museum.
  • Konigil Ancient Paper Factory – built at the beginning of the 8th century, the Konigil Meros Paper Factory uses the ancestral technology of Samarkand in their age-old tradition of paper production.

Transfer to the train station at 15:50 and take the train to Tashkent at 16:51. Arrive in Tashkent at 19:17, then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 – Tashkent – Chimgan – Tashkent

Have breakfast at the hotel, then meet your guide at 09:00.

Dive to the new mountain resort Amirsoy, located on the northern slops of the Maygashkan mountain and to the Charvak reservoir or Charvak lake. The route to Amirsoy will pass through very picturesque places of the Ugam-Chatkal National Park. Stunning views of the mountains, cliffs, and lush valleys will open along the way. Upon arrival at the ski resort Amirsoy, you will ascent by the new cable car to the top of the slope, which will take about 8-10 minutes. At the time of the hill, you will have free time for a walk to enjoy the views and fresh air at an altitude of 2290 meters above sea level (pay for cable car at the spot).

After visiting Amirsoy, drive to Charvak Lake, where you can use your free time to swim in the lake or ride a water vehicle (optional, pay cash on the spot). In the late afternoon you will return to Tashkent.

Day 6 – Tashkent – Departure

Have breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
